Train leaves from Gothenburg Central Station at 06.42. We will have a pickup truck on the parking lot at the back of Nils Ericssontermialen from 06.20. There you can leave your bikes for transport to the start in Kungälv. You can also travel to Kungälv on with bus, but then with no bicycle.
N.B. This year the Finishing/Award ceremony will NOT take place in Gothenburg, but at Dalens hembygdsgård approx 10 kilometers north of Kungälv. There the finishing and award ceremony will take place as well as the after party, complete with basic sleeping accomodations.
We will be riding on small and seldom used gravel roads but they are open to traffic and there will be encounters with cars and perhaps even horses. This means that you must ride carefully and with consideration for those you meet and your fellow riders. Be smart and ride safely. All contestants participate at their own risk!.
You register by paying the registration fee of 400 SEK or 40 EUR to Swedish PlusGiro 45 57 67-4 before September 1st. Mark the payment with Your Name and Ronde van Retaard. If you have trouble paying from abroad just contact us at email@example.com. The race is limited to 100 participants – so register in time!
Lunch and snacks during the race, as well as dinner and party in the evening plus breakfast on sunday morning is included in this fee – but do bring cash for beer/wine at dinner.
More than 100 kilometers on mostly gravel roads for fixed gear- or singlespeed bikes. Geared bikes will have their shifters taped single speed at the start. The race is split up into about 10 stages during the journey towards central Gothenburg. Between each stage the peloton will ride together and we will reassemble after each stage. The leader's jersey will be worn by the total leader after each stage. About half way there will be a lunchbreak with good food, good drinks and water. Cars will follow us during most parts of the race where you can put a small bag with warm clothes or whatever.
The finish will be at Dalens Hembygdsgård approx 10 kilometers north of Kungälv at about 7 in the evening. Afterwards there will be an award ceremony, dinner and party at this local history society where thera also will be spatial sleeping accomodations for those who wish to stay the night.
